Central Railway completes record 158 km doubling of tracks, multitracking in 7 months

MUMBAI: The Central Railway on Sunday announced that between April and October this year, it had completed a record 158 kms doubling of tracks and multitracking work.
An official said that the 158 kms includes Narkhed - Kalambha, Jalgaon-Shirsoli, Sirsoli- Maheji, Maheji- Pachora 3rd line, doubling of Bhigwan - Washimbe, Ankai Killa- Manmad, Rajewadi- Jejuri- Daundaj, Kashti- Belwandi, Valha- Nira line.
"During the same period, CR took several initiatives to strengthen infrastructure and execute various measures for customers and passengers, be it passenger amenities, facilities or new line, electrification or doubling," the senior official added.
CR general manager Anil Kumar Lahoti said that the infrastructure capacity augmentation will help CR overcome traffic congestion and help in smooth train operations. "With focus on safety and passenger amenities, we aim to boost rail infrastructure and make Railways network future ready," he added.
