2 held for fraudulent cash withdrawals

Ludhiana: Khanna Police arrested two persons for cheating people by withdrawing money from their bank accounts using their ATM codes. The accused have been identified as Vajinder and Sikandar of Ward Number 12, Ashram Colony, Barwala Hisar district, Haryana.
Police said that a case was registered on a tip-off about two persons cheating gullible people from Punjab, Haryana and other states, who go to ATMs to withdraw money by ascertaining the pin code of their ATMs and changing them to steal money from their bank accounts. As per information given to the police, the accused were between 30 and 35 years of age. One of them was said to be wearing a Khaki jersey and blue jeans while the other wore a blue shirt and green trousers.
Police said that the accused who matched the description were found standing near a bank on Lalheri Road in Khanna.
They added that finding the information true and reliable, police registered a case under sections 420 (cheating) and 380 (theft in dwelling house etc) of the IPC.
