NAVI MUMBAI: A day after the Navi Mumbai ACB team caught redhanded the 'tainted' Alibaug tehsildar-cum-executive magistrate Minal Dalvi (49) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakhs from the complainant through an agent Rakesh Chavan (49) on Friday evening, the ACB team carried out search operations at her two residences on Saturday and seized 'unaccounted' cash of around Rs one crore cash and around 600 grams of gold ornaments.
On Friday around 5.45pm, the agent Chavan was trapped at an electronics showroom in Alibaug while accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe, allegedly on behalf of Dalvi, from the complainant. Thereafter, Dalvi was detained from her rental house in Alibaug, but she complained uneasiness due to hypertension. She was hospitalized and on Saturday produced before Alibaug sessions court that remanded Dalvi and Chavan to police custody for two days.
Jyoti Deshmukh, Dy SP Navi Mumbai ACB said, "In the search operations on Saturday at the accused tehsildar Minal Dalvi's Vikhroli residence, where her husband and son reside, we have seized around Rs one crore of 'unaccounted' cash. From her rental house in Alibaug, we have seized 600 grams gold ornaments and Rs 68,000 cash."
