At least 6 dead, over 50 injured in central Istanbul blast

ISTANBUL: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday "a heinous attack" on a busy Istanbul street that killed at least six people and injured more than 50 others had been caused by a bomb.
Erdogan also vowed that those who waged terrorism against the Turkish nation would fail.

State broadcaster TRT and other media showed ambulances and police heading to the scene on Istanbul's popular Istiklal Street in the Beyoglu district. State-owned Anadolu agency said the cause of the blast was not yet known.
The nearby Kasimpasa police station said all crews were at the scene but gave no further details.
