SI consumes poison

Kanpur: A sub-inspector, suspended recently, consumed poisonous substance in the Outer Police Line on Thursday. After condition of SI deteriorated, fellow policemen apprised senior officials and admitted him to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital. They thereafter informed the family members of the SI, who later shifted him to a private hospital of City. SP Kanpur Outer Tej Swaroop Singh said that sub-inspector, earlier posted at Bidhnu police station. tnn
