Code violation: CM gets HC relief

Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Friday quashed the entire criminal proceedings initiated against chief minister Hemant Soren in a violation of model code of conduct case in the 2019 assembly election. Soren had challenged the case filed with the Argora police station in 2019 under sections 171 and 188 of the IPC for violating provisions of the code of conduct. The judicial magistrate in Ranchi had issued summons to Soren and ordered him to appear in person which was challenged before the HC. Chandrajit Mukherjee
