PATNA: Motihari and Siwan in Bihar were the two most polluted places in the country on Friday with "severe" air quality index (AQI) of 413 and 406, respectively, according to the daily AQI bulletin issued by the Central
Pollution Control Board.
Track the pollution level in your cityThough Patna is infamous for air pollution, recent data suggested that towns in north Bihar were more polluted than those in southern parts of the state this year. The AQI level of several cities in north Bihar, including Siwan, Begusarai, Motihari and Bettiah, turned either "very poor" or "severe" this time, while it remained in "satisfactory" and "moderate" category in south Bihar cities like Gaya and Aurangabad.
