Khambhat BJP city unit prez, four others get 10 years in jail

Vadodara/Anand: A local court in Khambhat of Anand district sentenced five accused including BJP’s city unit president in Khambhat town 10 years of imprisonment on Friday. Sources said that Khambhat additional sessions court also ordered Rs 20,000 penalty to all the five accused including Pinakin Brahmbhatt, the BJP city unit chief in Khambhat. The court declared its verdict on Friday in connection to an offence registered against Brambhatt and four other accused in 1997 on charges of attempt to murder. The offence was registered at Nadiad in Kheda district. Later, after division of greater Kheda into Kheda and Anand districts, the case was transferred to Anand district.
