Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the compressed biogas plant set up by Adani Foundation at Gobardhan Yojna site in Shahanshahpur village on Friday. He was accompanied by the divisional commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma and DM S Rajlingam.
During his visit, the CM emphasised on making Jeevamrut and paint from it. He laid special emphasis on natural farming and stressed on taking suggestions from KRIBHCO and Gorakhpur Fertilizer for the benefit of nearby farmers.
According to the officials, the biogas plant, built on about seven acres of land, has the capacity to produce 3,150 kg of compressed biogas per day. The plant will also produce liquid and solid fertilizers along with gas. Buying cow dung from cow farmers for the plant will increase their income and also provide employment while the compressed biogas is also good for the environment.
The compressed bio gas is being produced from cow dung, press mud (waste from sugar factories) and Napier grass. In the second phase of the project, organic manure is being made from its waste. There is also a training centre for farmers for training in organic farming.
Compressed biogas is cheaper than LPG. It will be very cheap to run an industrial unit using 500 to 600 kg of LPG per day. Entrepreneurs can save about 5% in their cost by using it. It is a pollution free and cheap fuel just like CNG.
