Thiruvananthapuram: The Pangode police have registered a case against an Army man, Vimal (30) of Kochanakalluvila in Pangode, for assaulting and abusing the staff at Sree Gokulam Medical Centre at Kallara and the police under the influence of alcohol, on Thursday night.
Vimal had reached the private hospital for treatment for a leg injury. When a doctor asked him the cause of the injury, he got annoyed and started abusing the doctor and other staff. When the security guards tried to stop him, they were also assaulted. Later police were called in and the accused also tried to assault the cops, police said.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. “The duty doctor asked him about his injury to mark in the OP sheet,” said Dr Satheesan M, chief medical officer of the hospital.
