AMBALA: A day after a patient died after falling from the third floor of Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment,
Haryana home and health minister Anil Vij visited the hospital on Saturday and instructed the administration to install safety grills.
Anil Vij directed the PWD officials to install grills on all the windows of the Civil Hospital at Ambala Cantonment.
A patient, Ravinder of Kalalti Thakar Pura village in Ambala had died after falling from the third floor, as the police claimed, "He suffered fits when he went to smoke bidi towards the window of his room in the hospital."
Anil Vij visited the spot for inspection and recreated the entire incident and instructed the police officers to investigate the matter again.
Anil Vij questioned officials, "How can the patient jump from the window of the hospital as the height of the window is high."
Vij himself opened the window and checked how one could jump from here. Standing on the stool, he looked out the window and instructed the police officers to investigate the matter.
Anil Vij saw the fall ceiling in broken condition during the inspection at the Civil Hospital, after which he told the PWD officials that our government is running Vande Bharat Express train and repair work in the hospital should be done at the same pace as the era of passenger trains is gone. He said that the repair work in the hospitals should be done at a fast pace so that the patients who come here every day do not have to face any problem.
