KLES chairman draws attention to conversions
Belagavi: Former Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore called upon Lingayat and other Hindu spiritual leaders to seriously think about religious conversion in Karnataka.
At the convention of swamijis who gathered from across the state on Friday, Kore said the new generation was moving in the wrong direction by accepting conversions. Society will not remain if this continues, he said. Kore urged the swamijis on the dias to look into the matter with seriousness along with the role of educational institions run by mutts. He urged for a convention to discuss conversion.
Kore claimed that the KLE Society, which he has founded, and Lingayat mutts in Belagavi had played a major role in developing Kannada in Belagavi. “It’s my lifetime’s memory of getting honoured from 250 swamijis at once on such a big dais,” Kore said. “I will never forget this moment. This event and the blessings of swamijis has made me feel young like a 25-year-old,” he said.
A Kannada book, Kannada Ratna Prabhakar Kore, written by Professor BS Gavimath was released also. tnn
