Lucknow: ‘Repair all streetlights within 2 days’

LUCKNOW: Directing officials to repair all streetlights in the city within two days, divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob on Friday directed the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) officials to attach a junior engineer to the head office in Lalbagh for negligence in work.
The divisional commissioner found most of the streetlights falling in the area under Shree Tandon, a JE in rubbish removal department, were dysfunctional and asked why the lights have not been repaired yet. When he failed to give a satisfactory reply, she instructed senior officials to attach him to head office.
“Make sure all the lights on main routes of the city get repaired within two days,” she said. When TOI asked about delay in lodging FIR against those who failed to repair streetlights, she said: “There is improvement in the situation. More time has been given.”
