LUCKNOW: The spurned lover, who had allegedly posted a 'confession' on the Facebook after killing the girl in Dubagga a week ago, surrendered in a court on Friday.
According to police, a 17-year-old girl was killed with her throat slit on last Saturday. A knife was also found on the spot.
During the probe, the police found a youth in the neighbourhood, identified as Rohit Rawat (20), had uploaded photographs of two hand-written pages on his Facebook account in which he 'confessed' to have killed the girl because she rejected her marriage proposal. Rawat had written that he would commit suicide, but instead he fled and was missing since then, said police.
Rawat, with the help of his friends, moved a surrender application in a local court on Wednesday. The application was filed after his family was questioned by cops.
