Jamshedpur: State health and disaster management minister Banna Gupta on Thursday said the development of
Mango area and providing the locals with world-class civic amenities were not merely pre-poll promises but that he was committed towards it.
The proposed 4km bridge-cum-flyover at Mango to be built at a cost of around Rs 500 crore would ensure relief from traffic snarls to the commuters when they head towards Sakchi and other areas located on the other side of Subarnarekha river, Banna said. He expressed confidence that the state’s first bridge-cum-flyover would be completed within the specified time frame of around 30 months.
Chief minsiter Hemant Soren had virtually laid the foundation stone of the project during his recent visit to the Steel City.
Banna represents the Jamshedpur West assembly seat under which over 99% of the area falls under the
Tata Steel administration, besides Mango. The civic amenities here are provided and maintained by the company. Mango area is looked after by the civic body and the facilities provided here are far below in comparison to those on the other bank of Subarnarekha river, maintained by the steel major company.
The minister said the uplift of Mango area was his dream and that he would fulfill it during his tenure in the government. He reminded his critics to wait and watch the changes in Mango, where quality of living will be on par with those under the Tata Steel command areas.
He promised to shift the inter-state bus stand from Bhuiyadih to Mango, for which around Rs 71 crore has been allocated.
