Jaipur: An undertrial in a murder case undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital in Alwar escaped from the facility. He was lodged at the central jail in Alwar a week ago and was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday following abdominal pain and fever. An assistant sub-inspector, who was the guard posted at the hospital and two on duty constables, were suspended Alwar SP for negligence.
According to police,
Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after he complained of abdominal pain and fever. “On Thursday, when Gangaram, a police constable, had gone for the medical test of another inmate admitted to the hospital, the other constable Laxmi Narayan had gone to take medicines for the inmate. During this period, the inmate escaped,” said police.
Police said Dharmendra was arrested for murder and the court had sent him to judicial custody. “On November 9, he had complained of abdominal pain and fever and doctors at the jail referred him to the government’s general hospital in Alwar. He was also administered intravenous medicines,” he said.
When he was lodged, head constable Laxmi Narayan and constable Gangaram were on duty. “Three policemen including assistant sub-inspector Israeal Khan were suspended for laxity in work,” said Alwar SP Tejaswini Gautam.
