Prayagraj: About half-a-dozen armed and unidentified robbers barged into the house of a man at Gaddopur Kachar area under the limits of Phaphamau police station in trans-Ganga late on Wednesday night and looted a bike and SUV besides Rs 25,000 cash and jewellery at gun-point.
Upon being alerted, senior police officials rushed to the spot and carried out investigations.
Two police teams have been constituted to crack the incident. An FIR under appropriate section has also been registered regarding the incident.
Additional SP (Soraon) Chirag Jain told TOI, “About half a dozen unidentified and armed robbers barged into the house of one Ram Kumar Pandey and looted cash, jewellery and vehicle at gun-point. Police teams have been pressed into action to crack the case.”
As per the victim’s family members, the armed robbers barged into the house at around 11 pm on Wednesday night and injured the house owner when he resisted. They looted an SUV, bike, Rs 25,000 cash and jewellery worth Rs one lakh at gun-point. The victim was living with his wife, kids and younger brother. Investigations are on. No arrest has been made so far.
