Piped water supply to Gwalpahari: HSVP told to expedite work
Gurgaon: To ensure piped water supply to housing societies in Gwalpahari, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) asked Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to complete the pending work related to the water pipeline.
The 2,100 metres of pipeline has remained incomplete for the past few years. GMDA also asked agencies to resolve the pending bottlenecks and complete projects in a time bound manner. The upgrade of the boosting station is also in the pipeline to improve the efficiency of water supply in the city. HSVP (Gurgaon) administrator Jaspreet Kaur said that a tender in this regard will be invited soon.
The coordination committee meeting of local authorities was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of GMDA CEO Sudhir Rajpal wherein issues of ongoing projects were reviewed. The meeting was attended by deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav, chief administrator of HSVP Jaspreet Kaur, as well as senior officials of MCG, municipal corporation of Manesar (MCM), traffic police, PWD (B&R), HSIIDC, NCRTC, DHBVN among others.
“Concerned departments must look into the requisite shifting of electric poles, any physical structures, trees, encroachments and any other restrictive factors which are posing as hurdles in infrastructure development projects,” Rajpal said.
The RWA members of Garden Estate were also present in the meeting. Rajpal directed MCG officials to start clearing the unauthorised dumpyard behind Garden Estate and opposite Vidya School which was highlighted by the residents. He also instructed the officials to make the green belt in front of the society free of encroachment.
Radhey Shyam, the chief engineer of MCG, said, “Ten boosting stations have been identified and work is underway to improve their efficiency. Repair and upgrade of boosting stations at Sushant Lok C Block, Darbaripur village and Sarasvati Vihar have been completed and water supply has thereafter improved in these areas.”
The issue pertaining to disposal of Sector 42 sewer in creek 1 was also raised in the meeting to which Shyam said that the estimate for this work has been approved. In the meantime, CEO GMDA outlined that till the project is completed, a temporary arrangement /method may be looked into to divert the sewage into the master sewer line.
