Thiruvanathapuram: Two youths held with 75g MDMA

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: During the inspection held near Amaravila check post, the excise department officials seized 75g MDMA from a youth coming from Bengaluru in a Volvo bus here on Thursday.
After questioning the youth, excise officials also arrested his partner, Adarsh (24), a Varkala native.
Shan (23), who is also a Varkala native, kept MDMA in a cigarette packet concealed in a shirt kept in the bag. During inspection at the bus, excise officers found that the youth was a little tense and his body language hinted that he was a regular drug user.
When questioned in detail, he told officers that he has a partner and Adarsh was arrested from his house.
The MDMA was bought from Madiwala in Bengaluru for Rs 96,000; which was equally shared by both. They were planning to sell it at Rs 10 lakh at Varkala areas as small quantities to various customers.
Due to frequent seizures of drugs transported from Bengaluru, excise officers have intensified checks at all the buses coming from there.
