Excise Sports Meet-2022 begins in Belagavi today

Belagavi: The excise department will organise a sports meet of three divisions — Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Hosapete covering 15 districts — for three days here from November 11.
Unveiling the logo and T-shirts of ‘Excise Sports Meet-2022 Belagavi’ at the excise office here on Thursday, additional commissioner Y Manjunath said over 1,200 personnel from the department will vie for honours at the sporting event comprising cricket, kabaddi, badminton, volleyball, throwball, tug-of-war, javelin throw, long jump, 5km run, and relay races.
Manjunath said excise commissioner J Ravishankar will inaugurate the event at the district stadium on Friday morning. International boxer Mukund Killekar, DC Nitesh Patil and MLA Satish Jarkiholi will be present.
Excise minister K Gopalaiah, MLA Anil Benake and city police commissioner Boralingaiah M B will attend the prize distribution ceremony on November 13.
Vincent Carlo, an excise department official who had won gold in power lifting in Commonwealth Games-2011, will be felicitated.
