Ghodekon locals ban visitors to holy rivulet
Bicholim: Fed up by the nuisance and mess created by the visitors to the Ghodekon in Bicholim, the Bordem comunidade, committee of the Shree Devi Sateri Tadanulagik temple and Yuwa Sanghtana have jointly put up a notice stating that the place is holy and to maintain its sanctity.
The notice informs that the area near the Ghodekon rivulet is a religious place and that violating its sanctity is a punishable offence.
It also states that many who visit the place to swim leave the place littered with liquor bottles and empty food packets. “Hence the general public is hereby informed not to venture to this holy place failing which appropriate legal action will be initiated against defaulters.”
Member of the Mahajan Gaonkar community, Narayan Pal said Ghodekon is a holy place but visitors treat it as a picnic spot.
President of the temple Pundalik Pal said that this property belongs to the temple, comunidad and Gaonkars of Bordem.
