LUCKNOW: A day after high court pulled up Lucknow Municipal Corporation for poor handling of dengue spread, the civic body along with health department got on toes and launched a 15-day extensive drive to curb the vector-borne disease in the city.
On the first day of the drive on Thursday, deputy chief minister
Brajesh Pathak and mayor Sanyukta Bhatia flagged off 400 fogging and anti-larvae mounted vehicles from the 1090 Crossing.

These vehicles include 130 two-wheeler mounted fogging machines, 40 four-wheeler mounted fogging machines, 85 tractor tanker anti-larvae machines, 70 battery operated anti-larvae machines and 40 pyrethrum spray machines with six smog guns and nine sweeping machines.
On Thursday, the drive was carried out in over 60 localities including Rana Pratap Marg, Rajajipuram, Krishnanagar, Jankipuram, Indiranagar, Jiamau, Dalibagh and Vijaynagar.

Pankaj Singh said, "A team from the LMC and health department will visit the areas where dengue cases are rising and make the residents aware about the precautions.
Under the special drive, fogging and anti-larvae sprinkling will be conducted as per weekly roster for next 15 days."
