PANAJI: In view of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa police has cancelled leaves of police personnel till the end of November. Inspector general of police (IGP) Omvir Singh Bishnoi said that around 2,500 police personnel will be deployed for security arrangements, and one company of rapid action force may be requisitioned.
“In view of major law and order arrangements and events, no leave shall be granted from November 18 to 30. This issues with the approval of DGP, Goa,” SP Shekhar M Prabhudessai said.
After being conducted in the hybrid format for the last three editions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 53rd edition of IFFI will once again be held entirely in the physical mode this year, an official of the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) has said.
The festival will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28.
