VADODARA: A resident of Gotri road was duped by cyber frauds who siphoned over Rs 1.14 lakh from her bank account. Prachi Sinha, who is a teacher at a private school, has filed a complaint of cheating at the cybercrime police station.
Sinha told the police that she received three phone calls on November 5 and one more two days later. The accused asked her about her State Bank of India (SBI) credit card and she told them that she has applied for stopping the credit card service. The caller told her that she would have to settle her outstanding amount to stop the service.
The fraudster called her again the next day and asked Sinha to install AnyDesk Remote Desktop application on her phone and then asked for a code. The caller then asked for her debit card details including card number, expiry date and CVV number. She was also asked to transfer Rs 9,999 that she promptly did.
After some time, the accused withdrew Rs 19,999 twice, Rs 49,999 and Rs 24,789 from Sinha’s account.
