RTI activist helps Muda save property
Mysuru: An Right To Information (RTI) activist has helped Mysuru Urban Development Authority (Muda) to save its property worth Rs 15 crore, following which the civic body has lodged a police complaint against four persons including three people from Hassan for creating fake documents.
Manjunath R, special tahsildar, Zone -1, Muda, confirmed to TOI that he has lodged a police complaint against four persons on charges of creating fake documents on one of Muda’s properties in Vishweshwara Nagar Industrial suburb and then pledging it in a bank in Hassan to obtain a loan. The accused had used the fake documents to get a loan along with other properties to the tune of Rs 14 crore, he said.
“Only after RTI activist BN Nagendra filed a complaint with Muda, did the matter come to our notice. We have filed a complaint with Vidyaranyapuram police against the accused for creating fake documents on a Muda site. The market value of the said site in the industrial area is Rs 15 crore,” the officer said.
