Baran vet hosp nearly ready, can treat 300 animals, birds
Kota: A Rs 20-crore veterinary hospital with capacity to treat 300 animals and birds for free is being built in Baran district.
Around 80% of construction is complete and it is likely to be operational by January.
Built on contributions by Bhamasha donors over 36 bighas, located around 12km from the district headquarters at Bada Balaji, the hospital is equipped with three modular operation theaters, advanced diagnostic lab with latest X – ray and sonography machine, separate OPDs for animals and birds, three indoor wards, pre and post operative wards, all equipped with oxygen pipelines.
“At least 10 ambulances will be engaged to bring injured and unwell animals, cattle and birds from any part of Baran, Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar districts of the division,” said project director of the veterinary hospital, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Bhatnagar.
Facilities for admission after treatment at OPD surgery will also be available as per the requirement, he added. Besides,the surgery room for birds is attached with a recovery room, wherein birds would be kept for observation and another room with it is dedicated to those small birds which need to be put in incubators,he said.
The hospital is set to be manpowered with 10 doctors, 40 nursing staff and 50 other employees. Bhatnagar also claimed the pathological lab is its key characteristic as it would facilitate medical examination for diagnosis that are not available at other places in the state.
The veterinary hospital is being constructed by Sri Mahaveer Gou Shala Kalyan Trust under the supervision of state mining minister Pramod Jain Bhaya and president of the trust Gautam Jain Bordiya, he added.
The veterinary hospital with advanced facilities is an extension of the gaushala, which is being constructed, said president of the trust, Gautam Jain.
Recently during a trip to Baran, chief minister Ashok Gehlot, had also visited the veterinary hospital.
