Govt to create corpus to hire superspecialist docs
Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to create a corpus fund to hire super specialists and specialists on contract at negotiable rates for Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar and the BMC Hospital in the state capital to provide higher level of healthcare to the people of the city and its nearby areas.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the provision of the funding which will be placed with the director, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, official sources said.
A committee has been formed to select and hire suitable medical professionals at individual negotiated rates. It will finalise the negotiated terms of engagement for selected specialists/super specialists.
The funding will be met from the existing provision of corpus fund budget of the health and family welfare department. The four-member committee is chaired by the commissioner of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
