Gurugram: Cons use PAN card, fake information to get credit cards, loans

GURUGRAM: Cyber crooks have allegedly cheated a Sector 103 resident by using his PAN card for getting credit cards and loans issued in his name.
The complainant, Sandeep Sharma, is a resident of Satya The Hermitage in Sector 103. In his police complaint filed on Tuesday, he said someone has misused his PAN card continuously for the issuance of several credit cards and loans from different banks.
Sharma said he recently checked his credit score (CIBIL) and was taken aback when he came to know about the various credit cards and loans issued on his PAN card number.
“The mobile number provided and even the email address is fake. I checked with one of the banks and found that three active credit cards are running on my name. I collected more details and was able to get the credit card number and information of one loan. I immediately brought the matter to the knowledge of police, banks and CIBIL,” Sharma said.
The case was lodged under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (whoever fraudulently or dishonestly uses as genuine any document or electronic record which he knows or has reason to believe to be forged) of the IPC.
“We have formed teams to investigate the matter and nab the accused,” SHO inspector Jasvir Singh said.
