Coimbatore: Man kills brother for marrying widow, held

COIMBATORE: A 38-year-old man was arrested on Monday evening on charges of murdering his younger brother for marrying a widow near Karamadai.
The Karamadai police identified the accused as M Balamurugan, a daily wage labourer from Vadamangalakarai. According to a police officer, Balamurugan's younger brother M Balasubramaniam, 32, married a 25-year-old widowed woman, a native of Theni district, two months ago. "She had a four-year-old daughter in her first marriage."
Balamurugan, the officer said, had advised his brother not to marry the widow. "However, Balasubrmaniam did not listen to him." On Monday night, Balamurugan picked a quarrel with his younger brother in an inebriated state over marrying the widow. "In a fit of rage, he assaulted Balasubramaniam on his head with a deadly weapon."
The Karamadai police subsequently arrested Balamurgan under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. He was remanded in judicial custody.tnn
