VARANASI: UP Minister for livestock and milk development, political pension, minority welfare, Muslim waqf and haj and civil defense, Dharampal Singh said that minority community children studying in madrassas will now be given education in subjects like Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science so that they can become IAS, PCS, engineer and doctor.
Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said that under the government's Madrassa Modernization Scheme, education is imparted for Science, Mathematics, English, social subjects in madrassas in order to give them opportunity in different fields. "As per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the madrassa students should have Quran in one hand and laptop in the other," he said adding, "Now, not only the children of the mightier but even children of labourers would become wealthier."
"During a survey of madrassas in Varanasi. Altogether, 99 unrecognised madrassas were detected. As many as 108 recognised and aided madrassas were also surveyed in the district," he said adding, "Under the Madrassa Modernisation Scheme students in 72 madrassas are studying Science, Mathematics, English, Social Science and other subjects. Three madrassa mini-ITIs are also conducting professional courses in computer operators and programming, tailoring, electronics and others."
The minister said that encroachments and illegal possessions were being removed from the land of the Waqf Board in order to establish schools, hospitals and parks there.
Highlighting schemes of his other departments, the minister said that each assembly area will have a grand cow shelter with an investment of Rs 12 crore. Up to 4,000 cattle would take shelter in each of these shelters, he said, providing details of on-going vaccination drives, developing grazing yards, and promotion of production of various articles with cow waste.
The minister said that after taking over Varanasi Doogdh Sangh Ramnagar by National Dairy Development Board on December 1, 2021 the collection of milk from farmers had increased from 6,000 litres per day to 22,000 litres while the number of milk producers committee has also increased to 260 from 150.
“It has resulted in taking the per day production of Parag milk up to 14,000 litres from 9,500 litres per day. Payment of milk producers committees was due for over six months till December 2021 but now all dues are cleared and payments are being made to them on scheduled time. So far, Rs 18 crores had been paid to the farmers”, he said, mentioning that the quality of milk had also improved.
