‘Navelim fair will affect students’
Canacona: Perpetual Convent High School’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Navelim has requested the South Goa collector and local panchayat to issue a stay order on the Navelim feast fair in order to avoid hardships to students in view of the SSC first-term examinations.
The feast of Our Lady of Rosary church, Navelim will be celebrated on November 16, while the SSC exams are scheduled from November 10 to 26, 2pm to 5pm.
In the letter, the PTA has stated that the school is one of the sub-centres for the Goa Board SSC exam.
The PTA pointed out that if the fair is organised in the open space opposite the school, music and other fanfare activities will create a lot of disturbance for the students answering their exams.
Sr Liberata Fernandes, headmistress of the school, said that they have requested the authorities concerned to look into the matter so that the students are not faced with hardships due to the fair.
