Telangana: Teen abducted and gangraped in Badangpet, 2 accused nabbed

HYDERABAD: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by a vehicle lifter and his friend in Badangpet.
While the alleged incident took place on November 5, Meerpet police registered a gangrape case against the accused duo on Tuesday.
The girl, initially, pointed fingers at two others but later changed her version and gave the names of the two accused following her mother's intervention. She was allegedly threatened by the accused of serious consequences if she revealed their names.

The girl said the duo forcibly took her on a motorbike and allegedly raped her at two different places in Badangpet on last Saturday night.
Police sent the girl for a medial examination. The girl left home telling her mother that she was going out to study with her friends.
When the girl returned home at 11 pm, her mother reprimanded her. When confronted by her mother for coming back late, the girl was evasive. On November 6 morning, the girl told her mother that she was raped by a 20-year-old local man and another person.
Her mother grew suspicious and immediately informed police about the incident. On Monday morning, the girl pointed to the local man saying he was the one who had raped her. Her mother along with locals handed him over to police. However, the man claimed that he was nowhere connected to the incident during interrogation.
Police then checked the CCTV footage and got convinced that he was not seen with the girl at the time of the offence.
Subsequently, the girl told her mother that the real offenders were 21-year-old vehicle lifter and his 17-year-old associate from their colony. Police picked up one of the accused and grilled him.
Police said one of the accused raped her while the other assisted him in committing the assault at an open place near the girl's house.
The girl's mother works as a housekeeping staffer in a local school.
