PATNA: IIT-Patna is busy making preparations to organise a four-day sports extravaganza for the students of colleges and universities across the country from November 10 to 13.
Giving details of the seventh edition of IIT Patna’s sports festival "Infinito", information officer Kripa Shankar said right since its commencement in 2016, Infinito has been witnessing the enthusiastic participation of more than 10,000 students from different universities in different events of online and offline sporting activities. The theme of this year’s sports festival is "Embrace the Entropy", he said.
He further pointed out that due to Covid-19 pandemic, the festival was being held completely in online mode for the last two years. But, this time, the indoor and outdoor events for boys and girls would be held both in online and offline modes. The online sports would include ‘call of duty’, ‘free fire’, chess, and ‘valorant’. Other events, including badminton, table tennis, cricket, football, and athletics would be organised in physical mode.
Ganesh Kumar, IG (headquarters), Vikas Burman, DIG(Admin), Bihar and Anand Kishore, chairman of Bihar School Examination Board and managing director of Patna Metro Rail Corporation will be present as distinguished guests at the inaugural function to be held on 10th November. And, on the valedictory day on November 13 a grand cultural event would be organised in which some eminent artists are likely to participate, he added.
