Noida: Asked to make entry, 8 thrash society resident
The eight youths were identified from CCTV footage
NOIDA: A resident of Shatabdi Rail Vihar housing society in Sector 62 was allegedly thrashed by eight youths for insisting they should make a proper entry in the register kept with the guards at the gate. All the accused have been arrested, police said on Tuesday.
On the evening of November 5, Nitin Kumar, the resident, spotted the eight youths in two cars arguing with the guards at the gate after the latter asked them to make an entry in the register. The eight had come to meet a friend, who stays in the society.
"Nitin, a bank employee, got out of his car and tried to convince the youths that an entry in the register is mandatory for visitors. Soon, an argument broke out between him and the youths," said Vivek Trivedi, SHO of Sector 58 police station.
The youths were finally compelled to make an entry in the register. "But they followed Nitin inside the society. When Nitin parked his car near his flat, the accused got off their cars too and kicked and punched him, before fleeing from the spot," the SHO said.
On Nitin's complaint, an FIR under sections 147 (rioting) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC was registered against unidentified people. "Based on the footage of the CCTV camera at the society's main gate, we identified and nabbed the accused from the Sector 62 roundabout on Monday night," the SHO said.
The accused have been identified as Tarun Kumar, Mayank Gupta, Chirag, Ayush Chaudhary, Piyanshu Chaudhary, all residents of Meerut, Sharad Parmanand from Delhi, Nipun from Ballabgarh in Haryana and Siddharth from Pandav Nagar in Ghaziabad. All of them work with a private company.
