Ranchi: Police are gearing up to ensure watertight security for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Ranchi and Khunti on November 15.
The President is scheduled to take part in the state’s foundation day celebrations at Morhabadi ground and also visit the birthplace of Birsa Munda in Ulihatu village in Khunti district.
On Tuesday, chief secretary Sukhdeo Singh and the director general of police visited the venues in Khunti and reviewed the arrangements, including security measures.
Security has also been beefed up in Ranchi city. Police said all the police stations have been asked to keep vigil on hotels and verify the antecedent of strangers. Measures to sanitise the paths to be used by the President have begun. Additional police have been deployed at the Morhabadi ground. tnn
