Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.01% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

HCL Technologies(up 0.83 per cent), Infosys(up 0.77 per cent), Coforge(up 0.57 per cent), Mindtree(up 0.56 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 0.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra(down 1.7 per cent), MPhasis(down 1.06 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.56 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.01 per cent at 28744.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 12.85 points at 18189.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 48.7 points at 61136.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, , Zomato Ltd., and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Khaitan(India), , Tapi Fruit Processing Ltd., and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Ltd., , Ltd. and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
