Noida: Man pushes woman off third floor for refusing to talk to him, held
Accused arrested after tracing his location.
NOIDA: The police have arrested a man from Ghaziabad for allegedly pushing a woman off the third floor of a building in Noida and then trying to flee away with her body.
Investigation revealed that the accused pushed the woman after she refused to be in a relationship with him.
According to the police, they received information at the sector 49 police station about a woman jumping or falling from the terrace of a building.
"A team reached the spot and found that the woman was taken to the hospital by a man identified as Gaurav. It was found that Gaurav claimed to be her brother. We didn't know as to which hospital the girl was taken," Ashutosh Dwivedi, ADCP (Noida) said
Further police investigation found that Gaurav was not her brother and the two were earlier in a relationship.
"The information was given to us by the family members. The woman wanted to break-off their relationship but he kept following her. The family claimed that Gaurav pushed her with an intention to kill and fled with her body," Dwivedi stated
Police said he had fled with her body to Ghaziabad and was going towards Meerut.
"His location was then traced and he was nabbed. The woman had filed a complaint earlier with the police as well where both families were called and the youth had accepted his mistake. He had also given in written that he would not be bothering the woman again. The man was earlier arrested under section 151 of the IPC," Dwivedi said.
During interrogation the accused revealed that he had come to meet her.
"The accused was forcing her to stay in touch with him, however, the girl refused following which he pushed her off. He also revealed that the two were in a live in relationship and had met while working at an LIC office. Earlier the two had a fight following something and the girl had stopped talking to her," the Ad DCP revealed.
The accused has been arrested under section 302 (murder) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of an offence committed) of the Indian Penal Code.
