JAIPUR: A 40-year-old businessman who was returning home was stopped by nine armed men near Jail Road under Kotwali police station area in Dholpur on Monday evening and was robbed of Rs 2.5 lakh and 100 grams of gold.
According to police, Monu Agarwal along with his employee was on their way to home from Pech Wale Hanumanji. “He dropped the employee near Madina Colony and started moving. Soon, he was accosted by nine armed men who intercepted his bike. The men then tried to snatch the bag containing the money and jewellery. When the businessman resisted their move, he was thrashed,” said an officer of Kotwali police station on Tuesday. The businessman fell down after the attack and the men fled with his bag containing the valuables and cash. “It was a narrow lane where he was attacked. Though he screamed for help, nobody came forward,” the officer said.
