Varsity missive against ragging, plastic, smoking
Berhampur: Berhampur University authorities on Monday asked students to refrain from ragging, use of single-use plastic and tobacco in the campus.
“We are committed to make Bhanja Bihar free of ragging, plastic and tobacco use and seek your cooperation in it,” said vice-chancellor Geetanjali Dash during the student induction programme.
She warned that strict action will be taken against indiscipline in the campus. “You are taking admission in the university to make your career. Strive for it,” said Dash. She also told them about the visit of the NAAC team from November 23 to assess its performance.
The state government directed the colleges and universities in August to take steps to make ragging free campus.
PG council chairman Pratap Kumar Mohanty told students about different resources available in the university. He asked the fresher to take advantage of its resources to excel in their career.
Around 80% of students have taken admission in the university through the common PG entrance test.TNN
