A 2015 batch police sub-inspector Ajay Yadav suffered bullet injuries on chest when three miscreants opened indiscriminate fire on him in Jagatpur area under the limits of Rohania police station on Tuesday evening.
VARANASI: A 2015 batch police sub-inspector Ajay Yadav suffered bullet injuries on chest when three miscreants opened indiscriminate fire on him in Jagatpur area under the limits of Rohania police station on Tuesday evening.
The assailants fled after looting service pistol and purse of Yadav. Massive checking drive was launched in the district after sealing its border while cops in adjoining districts were also alerted.
Commissioner of police A Satish Ganesh said, “Yadav, is currently posted at Luxa police station, was standing at the plot, where his house is being constructed, on Tuesday evening. In the meantime three miscreants raided the place and opened fire on him. Later, they fled the scene.”
Yadav was immediately rushed to hospital, CP said adding, his condition is critical but stable. All senior officials of commissionerate and Varanasi rural district had reached the spot. CP said that manhunt was launched for early arrest of assailants.
With the spread of news of attack on SI alert was sounded across the district and massive checking drives were launched following sealing the borders. Cops were trying to identifying the assailants and also know reason behind attack on Yadav.
