GORAKHPUR: Stating about the change that Gorakhpur has undergone in last 5.5 years, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during an interaction with entrepreneurs, industrialists and businessmen in the district late Saturday said that soon, Gorakhpur would become an investment destination.
"Gorakhpur is a big centre of business and around 7 crore people are dependent on Gorakhpur for health, business and education, which is more than the population of many countries. The intention of the government is to make Gorakhpur a better investment destination. If industrialists and businessmen make investment here, investors from outside will also invest. For increasing income, investment has to be increased," the CM said.
After listening to the suggestions of businessmen and industrialists, the CM said: "Everyone has seen the change in Gorakhpur during the last 5.5 years. Except NCR, Gorakhpur is ahead in investment including Rs 8,600 crore fertilizer plant, Rs 1100 crore AIIMS, BRD medical college super speciality block and regional medical research centre and also four Universities. It has become a hub of medical facilities and also many development work, infrastructural strengthening like roads, electricity, beautification of Ramgarhtal lake, zoo construction, are evidence of new Gorakhpur. Road connectivity and air connectivity is also making Gorakhpur a good destination. Good infrastructure is the first condition for development. Government is ensuring safety and security and availability of power supply and we should utilize the facilities with an open mind."
The CM directed officials to strengthen the land bank and said that he inaugurated the first data center of India in Noida on October 31. He also said that the centre was not only protecting data but also attracting investment of 39 thousand crore," the industrialists during Lucknow meet on November 1, said to give a proposal of Rs 3 lakh crore."
While describing the importance of packaging, he said that the MSME department has been directed to open a packaging institute. He also said that the schemes in Uttar Pradesh are unique in the country and gave examples of ODOP, Mission Shakti and Abhyudaya coaching schemes, "Ease of doing business in UP is second in the country. Government is bringing wonderful schemes for every sector which will promote investment and revenue."
The CM also informed about the approval of Gordhaiya Nulla, Deoria bypass and TP nagar-Padleyganj overbridge and also said that CCTV cameras are being installed at every crossroads and with this criminals won't be able to escape.
CM motivated women industrialists and said that one Sangita Pandey who is associated with the packaging industry started business with Rs 1500 and today her turnover is in crores.
The former chairman of chamber of industries, SK Agarwal said that in-spite of the challenge of corona, the per capita income in UP has risen from 43 thousand to 95 thousand. GIDA which was established in 1989 but development came after 2017.
Businessman Atul Saraf said that after 2017, facilities in the state improved and crime.
The CMD of Gallant group, CP Agarwal while describing the development of Gorakhpur and the state, thanked CM for the new industrial policy.
