Gujarat: PCR van driver saves lives of suicidal couple

VADODARA: A police control room (PCR) van driver saved lives of two lovebirds who were contemplating of taking their own lives. The incident occurred on Vasad bridge on Friday night when Ramdas Meda was passing by in the van and noticed two young people standing on the bridge and crying profusely.
The young couple’s hands were tied together with a piece of cloth and both were standing perilously on the edge.
Understanding the situation, Meda stopped the van and walked towards the boy and the girl. He managed to strike a conversation with them and could convince the duo to abort their drastic plan and board his vehicle. According to the police, the couple was planning to jump off the bridge for reasons unknown. Meda took the duo to Nandesari police station where they were counselled before their respective families were contacted.
