The CM instructed the state nodal officers to conduct intense surveillance, including sanitation checks, anti-larvae spraying, and keeping doctors and medicines available at government facilities.
The health department teams, jointly with the sanitation teams, also inspected 85 houses in Baraula village in Sector 49, Noida. Officials issued notices to five house owners after finding dengue larvae in or around their homes. They also undertook anti-larvae spraying and fogging in the area.
"Our teams are constantly moving around the various localities in the district and inspecting areas for any possible spots of stagnant water, which are breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Apart from spraying-anti larvae chemicals and fogging, we are also creating awareness among the people to take proper care and report symptoms to a proper medical practitioner," said district malaria officer Dr Rajesh Sharma.
The samples from patienst at private hospitals are getting tested at the district hospital and Child PGI.
Dr Vikas Kheria, senior physician at DCH, Noida, said, "The number of cases is certainly rising, and 20-25 patients are reporting fever, nausea and other symptoms of dengue daily. However, only a few are testing positive, but most patients have low platelet count."
Dr Ajay Agarwal, director of Internal Medicine at Fortis Hospital, Noida, said, "We are seeing some severity in dengue patients compared to last year. The severity is most in patients between 25-35 years, who are going into dengue shock and facing multiple organ failure."
