THANE: Taking a jibe at Uddhav Thackeray's statement on mid-term elections statement, chief minister Eknath Shinde's son and Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde said he was giving such a statement so that his MLAs should not leave him.
Dr Shinde on Sunday attended a program in Dombivli during which he addressed to media.
He said that the state has got a stable government of Balasaheb's Shiv Sena and BJP.
He further said, "In such a situation, the remaining MLAs of his (Uddhav Thackeray) should remain with him due to which he is giving such statements. The truth is that some of their (Uddhav Thackeray) MLAs are either in contact with us or are in contact with our ally BJP".
Dr Shinde further said, "This is the reason that under a plan to stop his MLAs, sometimes he (Uddhav) sometimes Congress and sometimes NCP makes statements while they know that this government is a stable government and to pass the time of two years they are making time pass by giving such statement".
On Saturday, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray addressing party's functionaries predicted mid-term elections in Maharashtra and asked party workers to start preparations.
