188 more test positive for dengue in Bihar, one dies

PATNA: Dengue claimed the life of a Jamui woman at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on Sunday.
With this, the state's dengue toll so far this year has increased to 13. Eight victims were from Patna, two from Nalanda and one each from Buxar, Jamui and Munger districts. Seven dengue patients have died at PMCH, four at NMCH and one at AIIMS-Patna.
The state registered 188 fresh cases of dengue in the last 24 hours, which took the tally to 10,825 since January this year. Of the new cases, Patna alone accounted for 118. Altogether 8,176 dengue cases have been registered in Patna so far.
At least 14 people diagnosed with dengue were admitted to different health facilities across the state in the last 24 hours, including eight in Patna, four in Nawada and one each in Madhubani and Samastipur. The number of dengue patients undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the state stood at 168.
Maximum 41 patients were admitted at NMCH-Patna, followed by 34 at BMIMS-Pawapuri, 22 at IGIMS, 15 at JLNMCH-Bhagalpur, 13 at AIIMS-Patna, 12 at Sahyog Hospital, nine at PMCH, eight at SKMCH-Muzaffarpur, seven at DMCH-Darbhanga, four at ANMMCH-Gaya (4), two at GMCH-Purnia and one at Motihari district hospital.
At NMCH, five more dengue patients were admitted on Sunday and six tested positive against 16 tests done at the hospital. Altogether four dengue patients were discharged from the hospital on Sunday.
