Assam's Cachar district has just witnessed a bizarre series events after the headmaster of a local primary school showed up to his workplace swinging a machete, a video of which went viral on social media and then he was suspended.
Dhritimedha Das, a 38-year-old school teacher, has been working at the Radhamadhab Buniyadi School for just over a decade. A resident of Silchar's Tarapur area, Das turned up to the school, with a weapon on Saturday.
Police were called in to the school where they managed to get Das to stand down.
Reports say that the head teacher was angry and frustrated due to irregularities from the other staff and was at the school with the machete to warn them to get their act together.
After the video of him swinging the weapon went viral on social media, authorities decided to suspend the head teacher but have not yet filed a complaint with the police.
Das has not been detained following the incident.
