HYDERABAD: K Raj Gopal Reddy described the bypoll result as a 'moral victory', saying that TRS had won the 'adharma yuddha'.
"TRS brought the entire assembly, including ministers and MLAs, to Munugode. They were here for more than a month and stayed back in Munugode even after the deadline. So morally, the victory is mine," said a visibly upset Raj Gopal after the 10th and 11th rounds of counting. Raj Gopal, referring to the TRS as a 'Kaurava Sena', said: "They indulged in various irregulatires and violated every code of the EC. They did not even allow me to campaign properly. For the first time in the country's history, the returning officer was transferred during the election."
He slammed chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, saying: "KCR may think he will win the byelection, but it is just a number game, and the
BJP will fight aggressively against the TRS government under the leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah."
He criticised the community parties for entering into an alliance with the TRS. "These leaders have forgotten about the plight of the Munugode people and are sold to TRS. Their activists were fighting TRS, and they abandoned people and activists."
During the first round of counting, Raj Gopal Reddy said he expected more votes in Choutuppal but did not receive them. Interestingly, Choutuppal was the only mandal where the BJP maintained a two-round lead out of a total of 15 rounds.
