Mysuru: Ramakrishna Ashram senior monk Veereshananda Saraswathi Swami on Sunday said the Vedas are the oldest and original scriptures of Sanatana Hindu Dharma. He was speaking on ‘Bharatha Samskruthi- Samskruta Bharata’ organized at Dr S Radhakrishnan Centre for Philosophy and Indian Culture at Manasagangothri premises here.
“Sanathana Dharma is based on philosophy it is not an individual-based religion. The significance of the Sanatana dharma needs to be publicised among the younger generations. Great saints like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Shankaracharya and Swami Vivekananda made their efforts to spread this philosophy of life across the world,” the monk who heads the Ramakrishna Ashrama in Tumakuru said.
He also appreciated Prime Minister
Narendra Modi for successfully handling the Covid-19 pandemic without affecting the economy unlike several advanced economies like the United States. Veereshananda Saraswathi Swami wanted people to study the philosophy of Sanathama Dharma without having a prejudiced mindset to understand its importance for every individual’s life.
