THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The
BJP is trying to create communal polarization in universities in the state as part of its experiments in utilizing the education sector for the same in society, CPM state secretary M V Govindan alleged here on Sunday.
Explaining the party state committee decisions, he said the BJP was looking to destroy the higher education sector in the state using the governor and a situation has arrived demanding a discussion on removing the governor as chancellor of universities. He also alleged that the central government was trying to prevent implementation of welfare schemes in the state.
Govindan said the attempt is to sneak in pro-Sangh vice-chancellors in universities using the governor and the CPM will fight it legally and constitutionally besides exposing the political agenda behind the move. He said the opposition parties, including the Congress, and other communal forces are bent on attacking the LDF government and hence taking a stand in favour of the governor.
