THANE: As the city, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli, and other municipal jurisdictions head for local body polls, state
BJP president and former minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule is on a statewide tour to meet party workers and try to understand the pulse of every district.
Attacking the MVA allies here, he said it was unlikely that the coalition would come to power again. He also ridiculed Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo yatra, claiming that it had made a reverse impact with many leaders and party workers joining the BJP.
"The coming days will see many inductions of leaders from the opposition to the BJP and they (opposition) are likely to face a tough time finding a candidate to even contest the 2024 polls," he said.
To media questions on possible tensions with the Shinde faction, Bawankule said the party was with the Sena led by Shinde and would put all its might behind it. He lauded Shinde and praised his rebellion, saying the brave Maratha had suitably avenged the backstabbing of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance by Thackeray in 2019.
